Sorry to have to inform you all....

It's a bit busy in the factory... I'll try to have these screws made, but it may take a bit longer than a couple of weeks!!

I'll keep you informed!!

Throttle body screws

Postby 24c » Wed Nov 26, 2008 8:29 pm

I got a very nice text message today from our oldest member Slarty Bart Farst :P

The throttle body screw samples (unobtainum from Yamaha) are in the post. I will check for fit & function and if OK Graham (the younger doppelganger) will run some off.

So who would like some? Price is dependant on numbers, but I will hold and pay for some surplus stock and set up a domain name/eCommerce website/PayPal account, and set up an online ordering system. All monies will go into a GTS mods pot/fund. This will have more items available as monies allow, but expect to see stainless steel fairing fasteners/bobbins, crash bungs etc and handlebar/SatNav mounts. Later on I will be doing a performance stainless exhaust system, that will be cost effective, but you'll lose the catalytic converter.

BTW These throttle body screws are made of stainless steel and will not corrode or snap off seize like the brass ones, plus they are very light and mail costs in a Jiffy bag will be negligible.

All efforts from our 100 year old member are appreciated!!!
I'd be in for those throttle body screws!! Since i've got 3 bikes, 3 sets would do me fine!!

I am very busy, as always with work, then home (when work allows) and after that with my stuff...but I have been working on them for a long time ask OmegaChassis, and they will work...it's just a lot of money, after I make the prototypes.

You will see them at the 2009 Treffen for sure, but hopefully I will post pictures before.

At the moment I am working on the Coil Over Plug conversion using R6 COPs and I am having a mould made to make it waterproof in our engines. I have all the components, just need a free Saturday to talk to the mouldmaker...and if wifey knew how much this costs I'd be in court

COUNTER Total throttle body screw sets required so far is SEVEN that's 28 in total

You actually found a place to mount those bobbins??
I might be able to have some fabricated, so I'd be interested in any design pictures!!

Fabrication is not a problem, tooling upfront for a production run that makes the items cost effective for everyone is. That's why I was prioritising with smaller items first.

Count me in for a set of throttle body screws please. Crash bungs look like a good idea also, especially as we are in black ice season!
Cheers.

I will post a picture later tonight, and I'll check the fit too. There is a slight "nipple" on the end which will be eliminated in production, as the thread fit is being sorted first.

Yep, they are almost there...I know OmegaChassis tried to get these in the UK, and they are discontinued...but I have just put the part into Google and there is a possibility they are available.

4BH-14105-00 cost €8.50-$13.00 each...I'm hoping to do 4 for £10!!

I will try and source some springs, at extra cost (nominal) and check on the O ring situation too, as the micro/part fiche shows a few other items in the OEM set up.
