Misfiring engine

Postby gtsrobban » Wed Aug 27, 2014 7:10 pm

Hi!
I have a -93 GTS and last year i made the stage 1 mod,
It worked like a charm.
But recently it has been misfire when enginebrake.
I changed air filter and spark plugs. it didn´t work.
Tested with start gas on the intake rubber hoses, but no.

Has any one else had this problem, please let me know what you did
to fix it.

...recently it has been misfire when engine brake...

I think I understand what you are saying, there is a misfire when you close the throttle.

This can be caused by an air leak in the inlet or exhaust system. You have checked the inlet, using "start" gas, so it's not the inlet. That suggests there might be a hole in the exhaust or possibly a late spark when the exhaust valve is open.

As you've changed the plugs, I assume they might be a little black??, but I think you will have corrosion inside your spark plug caps, this increases the resistance and delays the spark or an arcing plug cap. I have had this happen to me, and it only affected part throttle cruise (hesitancy) and closing the throttle.

Lycka till
Mike
I've just started riding the GTS again, and it'll be changing

If your losing power as well, check your ignition coils. That caused mine to misfire.
