Ignition lock...

Postby Ankof » Sun Jul 29, 2018 10:28 am

Hi. Im new here, Always been facinated by the gts1000 and when I browsed through the Ads after a crash with a deer on my bike in the begining of july it was the only sensible choise to do a good deal and still go on the planed ride:-) great bike, done around 4t km so far and Im stuck. The only thing thats not ok is the ignition lock. Its hard to turn the key... does anyone Know Where I can find the parts and if there is posible to keep the key or change the Other cylinders to match a new key?

Hi,

part number 4BH-82501-00 or 4BH-82501-02

Try ebay or your local wrecker. I´ve had good luck with this Germany based company:

All cylinder plungers can be matched I've achieved this myself through a good professional locksmith.

There are 2 types of ignition lock, YM7 and YM8, they are not compatible as the length of the housing is different. The type is stamped on the outside of the top of the lock. See my blog viewtopic.php?f=55&t=3327&start=135 page 10 onwards.
