2007 submissions for 2008 Calendar

Postby Andrew Schauer » Sat Jul 28, 2007 1:01 am

Since the magazine article has been foremost on the home page, the calendar contest has mysteriously dwindled...

I say we revive it ASAP, and take the top two or three entries each month for the rest of the year. That will give us the 12 photos needed for next years calendar.

Any interest?

(or am I volunteering myself to take over calendar duties? )

I think with all the changes at SteveWP's household it somehow got lost in dispatches, plus we seem to have had very few photos submitted.

I will try and resurrect the monthly format again, and obviously we will be short of entries so some sort of system will have to be introduced to make up the short fall.

I have created a new category in the Image Gallery called "Calendar entries", so we can submit the pics here, the only request is that we reduce the maximum width of the entry, but keep the high resolution original version elsewhere, so that the forum pages don't get pulled or stretched.

Thanks for you input Andrew and previously Rob (AFAIR)

Next question, was everybody happy with the quality/size of the calendars last time, do they need a rework, any suggestions?

I have also rearranged the Image Gallery pecking order, and when I learn how to put in sub categories, I am going to edit/move the content for easier navigation.

PS Put a title in your picture entry that you'd like to see in the calendar, assuming you collect the necessary votes.

Didn't expect such a quick action, thanks Mike.
I was happy with the calendar this year, looks great on the garage wall.

Hmm, reckon El Greco doesn't really have a clue, a challenge is it? :P

FWIW, I don't do track days on a GTS, the front brake doesn't last two minutes, as it blues up on the road for some of us over here, and FYI some of us, don't weigh that much we need to drag our knees all over the place.

The law takes a dim view of video footage and such like, quite incriminating...

PS When somebody's video camera is up and running, you might be surprised Silly N

Hi,

Image

GREAT SHOT!! ...There you go folks proof that the GTS has got more guts than most riders.

As for You Bill, the more spirited riders amongst us get up to speed when riding alone or with just one other. Some of our antics would be considered Dangerous and a sure Licence shredder.

But the Gauntlet is down so I guess we had better get some head cam/s.

Lane splitting...mmmmmmmm nothing like an opposing Truck brushing your shoulder..that gets the juices flowing.

Seriously though...hats off to all you GTS lovers that have stuck with the bike and found what a capable machine it is.

hehehehe....there's nuthin like talkin trash....hehehehe

hey, I'm not sayin you should drive by traffic cameras n flip em the bird on a daily basis or anything..ahem.. but them types of action shots are priceless!!

heck, I lost my license TWICE in my youth!! Not fun having an old lady town justice stretch out her bony little hand on a sunday morning and say - give me your license son - all before I was "convicted" of anything!

I just figured that you gents would have more to offer in the action footage dept..with all that speedy talk yous do.

oh...and added weight only means ya have more momentum to carry you thru the curves there Mikey boy!!! Silly N he says, hmmph!!

Ok, where do I start.
I did not make the post for any reason other than to show what can be done with "my" GTS.
I am a motorcycle saftey instructor, the guy taking the picture is and instructor and works for a retired pro racer.
This shot was taken on a race track, not on the open highway.

http://www.thecoloradokarter.com/imi/imiinfo.htm

When we ride on the road we try and show that motorcyclist can be responsible.
On the track we push ourselves and our bikes. We talk about how we ride and then go out and practice different forms and styles.
So quit your flapping and enjoy!
If you want to drag something go ahead, if you do not, no worries I don't care, I just love to ride!

Still sore, still fat, but still smilling....
