Keighley Egg Run 8th April !!!

Postby stevewp » Sat Apr 08, 2006 1:39 pm

Short notice, I know, but I've only just been told about this.

For those in the area (of which we now have a number) this is a great event that I used to take part in.

It's run by the White Rose MCC, and the idea (in case anyone isn't familier with this sor of thing) is that you turn up, preferably with an Easter Egg or toy, and have a run from one place to another. There's a Police escort all the way, so no stopping at junctions, and the toys & eggs are donated to a children's home/charity.

It's a great event, and for a good cause.

You need to be at the AMF Bowling Alley in Keighley for 11 am. I'm not sure of the destination, but it used to be Mikey something-or-others (my memory's good, but not THAT good!) in Pudsey. Of course, that may now have changed.

Would be great to have a presence there. Not sure how many of my old lot (CCMCC) will be there, but they're all a good bunch. If you go, let me know how you get on.

If the Keighley egg run is on Saturday the 8th April...subject line...and the shout that was posted Saturday says tomorrow...what day is it.
If it was Saturday, a 12:39 post for a 11:00am start in Keighley, is stretching it for any GTS rider in this solar system, even Evel or Spitsmuis
I've just started riding the GTS again, and it'll be changing

Yep, maybe if I drive backwards I'll be able to get there on time...... lol ........

But the idea is great, we must see if that is possible for doing it in NL as well.

See ya!!!

:) :) Please excuse the boss...this day ..the day of the egg run ..was a Stag Day ..no not night..Day..

So he was obviously pissed when posting forgetting that almost all of us have lost the ability to read minds.

Had he not had screwed so many...bottles sorry unscrewed ,perhaps he would have stated something like " EGG RUN SUNDAY 9th April " hence not apparently posting after the event....

The poor guy has to do the go-karts later...which I'm sure as they are four wheels you'll do well out..

Piss taking out....Thanks for a good site and I hope your hangover lasts till Monday night.

Still got time to make it, but there is more info at
http://www.5staryorkies.org.uk/content/bunnyrun2006.pdf

Apparently it's a 30mph "chug" from Keighley to Bradford, with a little bit of an event at the other end. Hein Gericke are sponsors and are doing a charity auction of some gear!

Looks like our hard northerners were stopped by a spot of rain ;)

Actually, Mike was poorly and I suspect Bear didn't get his bike sorted. It wasn't a very good turnout altogether though - only about 40 bikes I believe, which is very much down on what it used to be (9 years ago!! Lol).

But still, there'll be another opportunity towards Christmas.

In actual fact Bear spent spent Sat morning putting in an indicator Pod ..My gracious thanks Omega Chassis ( Tony ) And a thanks to 24c ( Mike ) for telling me to use a qtr inch socket for the inside nut.... after an hout of fiddling Mike let me into the Joke..it was an 8mm Socket I needed..I misheard him , he was refering to using 1/4 inch drive...

EGG RUN....

Sunday Hailstones and sleet as big as marbles ..odd snow flurries and cold wet weather all round.... My bike went as far as the power washer at local garage for a gentle rinse...then back home.

Maybe another time...

Yeah, I did hear the weather was bad.

My friends went in the car, which wasn't the same, I'm sure.

As for santa suits - you don't want to scare the kids off old St Nick do you??!! Lol
