Trip around the "Ostsea" 2009

Postby rooyenan » Sat Apr 12, 2008 7:52 pm

Just thought there might be some interest in the folowing!!

Some guys in Germany are planning a trip around the Ostsea in 2009!!
(Volkmar)

Some info:

Start vorraussichtlich im Sommer 2009.
Dauer etwa 3 Wochen und etwa 10.000km
Reiseroute: Deutschland, Polen, (Rußland-Königsberg) Litauen, Lettland, Estland, (Rußland-St. Petersburg), Finnland, Schweden, Dänemark, Deutschland.
Die beiden Abstecher nach Rußland sind zwar gewollt, abedr noch nicht sicher. Dort braucht man ein Visum und das müssen wir erst noch klären.

In English:

Start in summer 2009
Traveltime 3 weeks
Route Germany, Poland, (Russia - Königsberg), Litauen, Letvia, Estonia, (Russia - St. Petersburg), Finland, Denmark, Germany...
Both trips into Russia are whishes, not sure due to visa necessity!!

I'll be trying to be there!!

6000 miles, hmmm... that's a lot of oil

Should have the bike fixed by then though, might even think about going too, just depends on the absence from work situation, assuming I can hold down the job!

PS If I do a detour around Norway, the missus might come along, OTOH might be better to fly her there
I've just started riding the GTS again, and it'll be changing

Don't know about England, but for me it's no problem to get a 3 weeks leave for holidays, ones a year...

You can take it, if it fits in with everything else, but some companies don't like too many off at one time, as they are short of cover.

I work with a small team of guys (four soon), and a lot of work is expected around that time. So I wait and see what's possible, but three weeks on the house would get me in the good books! :o  Guess what I should do? and what might happen are two different things.

For me it's just a matter of timing.

Let the boss know what I planned about half a year before..
This way the planning can be made to fit it in..
