European Treffen 2008

Postby 24c » Mon Aug 27, 2007 12:09 pm

Provisional dates for next year's European Treffen are 22-24 August 2008.
It will be held in Münsterland, Germany, which is close to the Dutch border.

From the Europort outside Rotterdam, it's about 300kms , which is half what it was this year, and approx 480kms from Calais.

Here's a tourist link, for anybody thinking of stopping longer than the Treffen.
http://www.muensterland-tourismus.de/index.html

PS When the site link is up and running I'll post it, but at least you've got some dates to work around for ferry bookings etc, and an idea how far you've got too travel. 8)
I've just started riding the GTS again, and it'll be changing

Me too and Dale methinks, but I am definitely going to have a few extra days in Münsterland to make the riding less intensive, plus it's supposed to be quite scenic, with plenty of castles etc.

Will have a camera again too

I will be there too.

This time as Mike say's a longer stay.

We spend all that money to get there and then go home in a couple days? Sorry it does not compute with me, we should have done what our Dutch friends did and spend a couple of nights half way in the interim and make a proper holiday of it.

Last year we went to Holland, I have never been there before and did not see anything of Holland that has to offer as is the same of this year with Germany.

Anyways will be looking up on the local culture/scene's to see if there is anything of interest if anyone else is thinking along these lines.

Cheers

Dale

Hey leslie,

That looks like a great place for a meet.

Thanks for being our own interpreter, hopefully next year they will talk in English  .

The link looks great.

Hi Dale

I don't think you should expect the treff language to be english! Possibly if the meeting will be held outside the german speaking area it could happen. Otherwise you'll have to learn the language or buy me beer so that I'll sit at your table and translate ;-)

I did not mean it should be all in English, just the basics and with someone telling us what the hell they said that's all, looks like we will have to ply you with beer after all.

Don't worry will lace you will ale all night long.

Okay, maybe not al the regions are brand new up to date pictures, but it still is a lot of fun.
I have a lot of friends houses marked, locations where i've been, etc.
I can take a virtual tour there and relive my holidays.

Best of all, it's for free...what more do you want.
Cheers,

Chris
