ROSPA..M/cycle riding

Postby Dave Carey » Thu May 04, 2006 5:31 pm

:D :D This is a link only....

Unless you know everything there is to know and practice it each time you ride...then don't bother clicking on the link.

Even the most experienced of us...and it could be argued the one who has just passed his test is safer than the ones with 20 years of bad habits.

Anyway take a look..Overconfidence can be more dangerous than underconfidence...know your limits and ride accordingly..ignore peer pressure...and so it is said.

Now having put this up if I ever ride with someone who takes me out ,they had better wish I have to stay down...no joke!!

Have only just found this topic. Looks like a VERY useful site. Will have a good read through it when I have time to give it my full attention (that'll be when I'm at work then!! Lol).

Will also add it to the Links page, cos I think it deserves it!

I just browsed through a couple of pages there....

One very important tip for those joining the GTS Meet in August...

In the Netherlands most of the arrows and lines on the roads are not painted... It's a kind of plastic stick on stuff, WHICH IS VERY SLIPPERY WHEN WET!!!!

During driving lessons it is repeatedly said NOT to ride over them, but to try to avoid them if possible!!!!

Safety first!!!

Yep. Twas somewhere around Rotterdam. Can't remember exactly where, or if it is still there now or if they have got around to building a bridge over it, but the railway went straight across a 6 lane motoray, complete with big barriers and flashing lights, bell, and whistles. Most unnerving the first time I encoutered it.
