This looks in great condition and my paypal account is screaming at me to be used. However i thought I would throw a couple of questions out to those of you who have imported bikes before.
I saw on Jorojin's thread he had some fun an games getting it registered. Is this unlucky or the norm? How easy is it and what would I need to do?
What about converting the speedo and lights how simple/difficult is this?
If I bought the bike how long could I run it on German plates in the UK? How could I get insurance on it to bring it back?
Anything else anyone thinks could be useful to know/think about?
Thanks

In my experience it was unlucky, I have never had a problem with DVLA. You dont need to convert either the speedo or the lights. You will need to blank the dipped beam with tape to pss the MOT though.
You cant run it on German plates as getting insurance will be impossible without a german address, you could insure it on the frame number but most companies want a UK reg number within a month. Ship it back its easier and make sure you get both parts of the German documents for ease of UK registration. Remebering to declare NOVA as soon as you get back.
Simple really!

Re: Opinions about importing and this bike
Thanks Lewis,
So I can't ride it because i wont be able to insure it due to the German plates. Or if I ride it back its all at my risk as I wont be insured.
Therefore I need a motorcycle shipper that will deliver to the IOW from Germany. Any one got any recommendations?
Thanks

Hump it in to a transit van would be the cheapest option.
