ABS replacement

Postby Achisweden » Thu Apr 02, 2015 9:34 am

Hello

My ABS pump was broken when i bought my bike.

I bought a used unit in Ebay 150 euro.

Managed to replace the old unit myself.

But got help from a mecanic to bleed the system.

When i start test mode ABS lamp start flash.

And you hear sound from ABS unit pumping.

But i cant feel any responce in the brakes.

Can it be working or have i missed something ?

Regards Daniel

the abs ecu is sensitive to faulty input, if there is a rotation speed difference between front and rear wheel the abs light will flash and the abs is turned off.

When starting the bike in normal mode, does the abs light goes on and then complete off or does is start flashing after starting ?

My rear abs circuit inside the pump is stuck, but this doesn't generate an error, only a locked up wheel during braking.

It is possible to readout the error of the abs ecu unit.
don't force it.. use a larger hammer..

Thank you for answar =)

When i start motor normal ABS lights on then turn off no flashing.

I was doing this with motorcycle standing still

First i start normal and ABS lamp lights on then goes off no flashing.

After i turned power on in TEST mode and holding front and rear brakes.

ABS pump starts running for 3-5 seconds

I could feel little movement for a second in front break handle i think when pump was running.

PUMP just was on for 3-5 seconds then ABS lamp was flashing with 2-3 seconds intervall until i turn off power.

I just had power on for 2-3 minutes before i turned power off.

Hi, maybe you can check the diagnostics of the abs ecu.

To make things easy i've uploaded the diagnostics part of the service manual.

(just be sure to sort by filename or reverse date/time it should sort the pages correctly)

it's in jpeg but should get you started :)
