VIN # Location

Postby derby boy » Tue Jan 19, 2010 5:39 pm

I know this is the stupid newbie question. I just acquired a 93 and I have no owners manual or repair manual. I can't find the VIN # on the bike. I have removed the tank top and side panels for other maintenance. Could someone point me in the right direction before I dissasemble the whole bike.

Thanks

Its stamped vertically in the alloy frame above the front swingarm pivot, right-hand side as you sit on the bike (or left-no, right if you're female)

Almost correct! Location is correct, but it's not stamped in.. You'll find a metal plate riveted on there.

Nope, the plate is on the upper arm, chassis is stamped into the ally of the omega frame.

Thanks for your help guys. I'm sure there will be more questions until I can find an owners & service manual. Till then I'm fly'in blind.
