New Shoes - Going sporty!

Fast-boy tyres (as Nick likes to call them) or sensible sports tourers? What's your recommendation?

New Shoes - Going sporty!

Postby Devonian » Fri Feb 05, 2016 5:08 am

Just installed a pair of Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa in a nice sporty compound and 120/70 and 180/55 sizes. I don't NEED such sporty tyres but based on my experience to date, they will probably dry rot before I wear them out. If that turns out not to be the case, they were considerably cheaper than decent sport-touring options and, meanwhile, I have the benefit of the stickier rubber.

Zero miles completed since installation - an issue I intend to correct soon. Will report back as objectively as I can, although I anticipate them being worlds better than the hard, flat spotted rear Macadam and not quite so bad but still old and worn front Pilot Road that came off. I had experienced increasingly weird cornering and a couple of scary power slides so the change was long overdue.
