Re: letters in may classic m mechs

Thank you for recent article in the may classic m/c mechanics 'isle of wight'
Shame W H Smiths could not keep a copy of it on the shelfs long enough! :-x
Might have something to do with W H Smith being voted recently by consumers as the worst retailer in the UK and not for
first time i might add.

Re: Starting full rebuild of a 93 GTS1000

Hello Jorojin Thanks for the info  7 Page spread on the GTS1000 in the Classic Motorcycle Mechanic April edition. Starts not liking it on the basis of looks and past reviews, but by the end loves it.  A good review can't do any harm on GTS prices. :D  They seem to be under...

Re: Starting full rebuild of a 93 GTS1000

Any idea where I can get hold of a set of mirror springs that fit over the pegs on the fwd fairing - There's a circular spring that provides the peg clip tension and one of mine is missing. They're part of the mirror assembly Hello Mark I have some spare circular springs for the mirrors kicking aro...

Re: Failure to start - runs lumpy at low rpm - stalls at low rpm. Ideas?

Hello Mark First of all relating to the difficulty starting, i would check the starter solenoid these are prone to corrosion over time on the terminals. As for the rough idling i would check the HT leads from the plug caps you can unscrew these and check the copper strands inside have not broken up ...

Re: Need Krauser panniers

The krauser box mounts appear to require some drilling of the rear plastic fairing. Mmmm I think I'll stick with the Givi throw overs which work really well. At least Yamaha marked the position of the holes to be drilled on the side panels which makes the job a doddle, iv'e worked on some gts's fit...

The problem is I am having to put the gts back to standard
after someone has had a go at making it into a ‘streetfighter’ . But they have not provided all the parts to put it back to standard
