Re: 10 years ago I joined this forum

Well it arrived and has been tucked up in its new home for the next 3 months. But while I wait for that 1st ride I have a few questions that someone may be able to help with. Was there any changes to the spec from 93-98? Is there any way to improve the seat comfort without going the Corbin route? H...

UK GTS FOR SALE

It is with a very heavy heart that I have decided to let my GTS go. It's a UK bike. I bought a new bike, which means I have no choice. It was made a condition of purchase, if you know what I mean. It really is a great example. I've owned it for a year and done over 9,000 miles on it in that ti...

I'm amazed how quickly you've progressed.
This isn't a simple bike to work on.

Re: Starting full rebuild of a 93 GTS1000

You were bloody lucky to get a headlight. This has to be one of the bikes most precious items. If it got broken there is no way you could replace it. I've seen a couple come up for sale from abroad, but of course they wouldn't be road legal here because they drive on the other side of the road. I've...

Re: Parts Bike Out There?

The first is the rubber on top of the airbox (I think it is rubber but mine has hardened and cracked) which I believe is part 4BH-2838G-00-00. The tabs have cracked. Alex I wouldn't worry about that. As far as I can tell, this part is purely for sound / vibration deadening. I forgot to put mine bac...

Re: GTS photo update

Just for good measure.
Me aboard my first GTS in about 1994/5
Always regretted selling, and 23 years later, here I am again.
Funny how some bikes just stay with you, even when they're gone.

Re: Starting full rebuild of a 93 GTS1000

I've just got to make sure the engine doesn't get in the state that it was when I took the fairing off. I don't think in my 55 years of motorcycling I have seen anything as thick with crud, it was disgusting: I had the same problem with my GTS, although mine wasn't as bad as yours. Why do people ig...

Re: Starting full rebuild of a 93 GTS1000

I am still having problems with the ignition / steering lock (understatement :( ) even after injecting it with every lubricating substance known to man it still refuses to budge. LewisJJP says he has a spare lock still in a yoke, but as I have already had my yoke powder coated I would have to drill...

ABS Problem

I'm quite lucky with my 94 GTS, because the ABS actually still works. However today something a bit strange happened. After setting off, within a few minutes the ABS warning light came on. Not flashing. Just remaining solid red. I pulled over, turned off and restarted which did cancel it out, but a ...

Sounds like a great excuse for a road trip.
Yep, count me in.
Distance no problem for me.
