Bike stops

When I ride my GTS it runs perfectly, but, sometimes when I come to a stop the engine stops running like it ran out of fuel. It cranks over but will not fire up until I have cranked it a few times, then it fires and rides normally, just like starting the bike after running out of fuel. Do these bike...

Tire sizes

The original tire sizes tend to make the bike a tad skittish in the corners, not bad but certainly undesired, the modern sizes work well with this chassis and make the bike feel much more planted and it tracks like its on rails.

First ride

Put on a set of decent tires, up the rear to a 180 instead of the 170, do a complete service including new plugs and enjoy. Once used to the handling you will be surprised how this bike can be hustled along.

Paint

Can anyone tell me where I can get some paint to match the lower "belly pan" on my 93 GTS1000? It's a dark gray color which I believe is standard for all GTS belly pans. I looked at the Colorite site and they list a 006M Star Silver Metallic (SS). Is this the correct paint for the belly pa...

Not sure what the difference in size is, but if it's close just open up the hole. I would feel more comfortable doing that than reducing the bolt diameter thus weakening it.

My "new" GTS...

Just an update on my GTS I bought late last yr. It had been in storage for 9 yrs and has only 7400 miles, the rt side fairing was broken as well as the turn signal housing and the belly pan was missing. I stripped it, cleaned it up, powder coated some parts that had corroded through storing, service...

Fuel gauge not working

I recently finished re-furbing my GTS, I found it on ebay after it had been in storage for yrs. I finally got to ride it the other day and it's awesome, a little heavy at walking pace but lightens up and goes well, pulls like a train from any revs with no hesitation. At 6k rpm under full throttle it...

Looks very nice but no decals, not possible from the factory. The only thing I can think of is are decals added at final assembly at the dealer, maybe they were never put on though I don't think this is the case. looks like it has had a complete re-spray. Not sure why though.

I would say It's the main connector plug coming from the wiring loom to the ignition switch. Pull it apart clean the pins and female connector and spray with wd40. Put back together and it will probably work. I had the exact same thing happen to me.

Clock

I connected mine to the original power supply for the clock and works fine. No issues as of yet and don't expect any.
