Well, I have to confess, I'm not entirely sure myself, but I believe the general idea is to just pop down some personal experience or thought.<br /><br /> I guess I could ramble on all day about my exciting week this week, working nights and trying to get the site looking, feeling and working much better, but that would be boring.<br /><br /> In fact, maybe all blogs are boring?! Maybe they won't take off on this site, but I figured I'd try them out. If they're a flop, I'll get rid of them, but everything's worth a try once!!<br /><br /> So, why not add your own blog? At least I won't be the only one then!! Lol<br /><br /> Steve |

I'm turning myself into a real (or almost real) GTS mechanic slowly but surely...
Two weeks ago I bought a replacement engine for my bike, and started to get the old engine out...
That's not as easy as it seems to be when you have a look at the manual..
After removing all bolts, electrical wiring etc. I finished up with an engine that was not connected anywhere, but reluctant to leave the chassis!
Today I found the solution...
Although not stated in the manual, you should not only remove the oil filter, but also the oil cooler assembly underneath!!
That gives you exactly the space you need to get everything out!!
Learned something new today!!

Get some grease around your backend!
And we ain't talking about HM Customs way of doing this!! Although the rubber gloves might come in handy.Now is the time to grease all of those rear suspension pivots including the swinging arm pivots. With a decent waterproof grease before the salt starts eating them alive . Even more important if you are a pressure washer freak. |
